Wefwafwa Andrew
Medical Clinical Officer, Manafwa District, Eastern Uganda
Who is Wefwafwa?
Pronounced: /wɛf.wɑ.fwɑ/
Wefwafwa holds a Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Community Health and has spent four years providing direct patient care in eastern Uganda, near the Kenyan border, where the physician-to-patient ratio makes that presence genuinely critical.
He's currently completing a five-year Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery degree, supported by his benefactor Sean Roberti, followed by a one-year internship before full qualification as a medical officer. He chose to stay in Manafwa through all of it rather than relocate to Kampala.
What he's building
The Buwanga Way to Health Foundation is Andrew's NGO, oriented around a single long-term goal: a medical facility in his village that can absorb real patient volume and deliver consistent care. The Liger's contributions so far, a medical-grade microscope and an industrial irrigation system, are early inputs toward that.
Where to follow along
Andrew documents his journey on his YouTube channel, Andrew Wefwafwa Medical Videos, aimed at medical students and practitioners across the continent.
